For decades, Scott’s Hotrods ’n Customs has built its reputation on one principle: if we’re going to put the Scott’s name on it, we’re going to build it the right way. From complete custom chassis and independent front suspension systems to CNC-machined billet components and award-winning custom vehicles, Scott’s combines engineering, manufacturing and old-school craftsmanship under one roof in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Unlike companies that outsource much of their manufacturing or assemble products from off-the-shelf components, Scott’s controls the process from design and engineering through CNC machining, fabrication, TIG welding, assembly and quality control. Our vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities allow us to build products around the vehicle and application rather than forcing customers to compromise with generic, one-size-fits-all parts.

A Scott’s Hotrods chassis isn’t sitting on a warehouse shelf waiting for the next customer with the right year and model. Every Scott’s chassis is Built-To-Order around the specific vehicle it will live under.

Before fabrication begins, we consider the vehicle, engine, transmission, suspension configuration, desired ride height, wheel and tire combination and intended use. A comfortable cross-country cruiser doesn’t have the same requirements as a 1,000+ horsepower Pro Touring car, and a truck designed to lay frame on air suspension shouldn’t be engineered like a coilover street truck.

That Built-To-Order approach allows Scott’s to create a chassis that works as a complete system—from the front suspension and steering through the drivetrain mounting and rear suspension.

Scott’s IFS — NOT Mustang II

Proprietary Independent Front Suspension

Scott’s Hotrods Independent Front Suspension is not a Mustang II suspension system. Our IFS uses Scott’s proprietary suspension geometry and heavy-duty components engineered specifically for the applications we build.

Scott’s suspension systems utilize massive 1-1/8″ x .250-wall DOM tubular control arms, heavy-duty one-piece crossmembers, oversized serviceable ball joints, forged steel spindles, rack-and-pinion steering, built-in anti-dive geometry and 5/8″ or larger Grade 8 hardware.

We don’t rely on three-piece crossmembers, lightweight universal suspension components or T-bolt slider adjusters. Scott’s IFS is engineered as part of the vehicle—not adapted from a suspension designed for something else.

4-Bar Rear Suspension

Proper Suspension Engineering From Front to Rear

Scott’s approach doesn’t stop at the front suspension. Our chassis utilize an Equal-Length Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension engineered for predictable suspension movement, adjustability and consistent driveline geometry.

Heavy-duty 1-1/8″ x .250-wall DOM link bars, adjustable CNC-machined rod ends and a properly engineered lateral locating system provide the strength and control required for everything from comfortable street driving to serious high-horsepower performance.

Choose a traditional Panhard-bar configuration or upgrade to a Scott’s Watt’s Link for exceptional lateral axle control. For air-suspension applications, we highly recommend the Watt’s Link—particularly when paired with a Moser M9 FAB housing.

Coilover or SuperSlam

Built Around the Stance You Want

Scott’s chassis and suspension systems are available in Coilover and SuperSlam airbag configurations, but the difference goes far beyond simply replacing a coilover with an air spring.

A Scott’s Coilover chassis is engineered around the vehicle’s intended static ride height and performance goals. For customers who want an ultra-low stance and adjustable ride height, our SuperSlam chassis is engineered around air suspension from the beginning, accounting for suspension geometry, shock placement, axle clearance and usable suspension travel.

Whether you want your vehicle set up for aggressive Pro Touring performance or sitting on the ground at a show, Scott’s builds the suspension around the way the finished vehicle is intended to function.

Scott’s Hotrods builds its chassis and suspension systems using premium American-made materials and manufactures its core components in-house in Knoxville, Tennessee.

From mandrel-bent frame rails and heavy-wall DOM suspension components to CNC-machined billet parts, our ability to control manufacturing allows us to maintain consistency throughout the process rather than relying on unknown overseas components or constantly changing suppliers.

Our manufacturing capabilities include CAD/CAM design, 3D scanning, CNC milling, CNC turning, sheet-metal fabrication, precision TIG welding, powder coating through sister company TITAN Powdercoat, mechanical assembly and quality control.

That means when we need a component designed, modified or manufactured for a specific application, we aren’t waiting for another company to solve the problem.

Scott’s manufacturing capabilities include multiple CNC mills and CNC lathes, advanced fabrication equipment, Creaform 3D scanning technology, additive manufacturing and a highly skilled fabrication team capable of taking a project from concept to finished component.

Not every classic vehicle has accurate factory chassis dimensions available—and after decades of repairs, modifications and production variations, even published measurements can’t always be trusted.

Scott’s utilizes professional 3D scanning technology to capture original frames, bodies and components when developing custom chassis and suspension applications. This allows our team to digitally document critical mounting points, dimensions and vehicle geometry before engineering the replacement chassis.
