Correct Steering Geometry & Reduce Bump Steer
Scott’s Hotrods Rack & Pinion Steering Rack Extensions are designed to help correct steering geometry and reduce bump steer in custom IFS and rack & pinion steering installations.
Proper rack width is critical to suspension geometry. When the steering rack’s inner pivot points do not properly align with the suspension geometry, the tie rods can move through a different arc than the control arms as the suspension travels. The result can be toe change through suspension travel—commonly known as bump steer.
Scott’s Rack Extensions allow builders to increase the effective width of the steering rack to better position the inner tie-rod pivot points for the suspension being used.
