Why Choose a Scott’s Hotrods
1938 Lincoln Zephyr Chassis?
The 1938 Lincoln Zephyr is one of the most distinctive American automobiles ever built, with its sweeping Art Deco body lines, low roofline and unmistakable streamlined styling. A car this unique deserves more than outdated chassis and suspension technology underneath it. Scott’s Hotrods builds a completely modern, vehicle-specific 1938 Lincoln Zephyr Chassis designed to preserve the character of this iconic classic while dramatically improving its stance, handling, steering, braking and overall drivability.
Every Scott’s 1938 Lincoln Zephyr Chassis is built-to-order around your specific vehicle, drivetrain, wheel and tire combination, desired ride height and intended use. Our chassis combines Scott’s proprietary Independent Front Suspension (IFS), heavy-duty Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, rack & pinion steering, equal-length Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end. Choose premium Coilovers for a comfortable cruiser or modern performance build, or step up to Scott’s SuperSlam Airbag Chassis when your vision calls for an ultra-low Zephyr with adjustable ride height.
This isn’t a universal street rod frame modified to fit your Lincoln. Scott’s engineers the complete chassis specifically around the 1938 Lincoln Zephyr, taking drivetrain placement, suspension geometry, track width, wheel clearance, floor clearance, exhaust routing and desired stance into consideration from the beginning. Whether you’re building a beautifully restored cruiser, radical custom, modern restomod or pavement-hugging show car, Scott’s gives your Zephyr a modern foundation worthy of its legendary body.
Scott’s Hotrods manufactures one of the most complete 1938 Lincoln Zephyr custom chassis available. Every chassis is built-to-order rather than pulled from a shelf as a one-size-fits-all frame, allowing your engine, transmission, suspension configuration, wheels, tires and desired ride height to become part of the chassis design from the beginning.
At the front, Scott’s proprietary Independent Front Suspension utilizes a heavy-duty one-piece 2″x4″x3/16″-wall crossmember, built-in anti-dive and massive 1-1/8″x1/4″-wall DOM Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms. Out back, Scott’s proven 4-Bar suspension controls a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end using heavy-duty adjustable DOM link bars. The chassis itself features mandrel-bent 2″x4″ frame rails, an 8-point DOM tubular center crossmember and 100% TIG-welded construction.
Choose a Coilover Zephyr Chassis for excellent road manners, modern handling and a properly engineered static ride height, or choose the SuperSlam Lincoln Zephyr Chassis when your build demands an extreme, adjustable stance. From a refined Art Deco cruiser to a radical modern custom, Scott’s builds the chassis around the Zephyr you want to create.

Want Your Lincoln Zephyr to Lay Rocker?
Scott’s Hotrods SuperSlam Lincoln Zephyr Chassis is engineered from the ground up specifically for air suspension, giving your custom Lincoln the ultra-low, ground-hugging stance its sweeping body lines were made for. Rather than treating airbags as an afterthought, the SuperSlam chassis is designed around the suspension travel, geometry and packaging necessary to achieve an extreme aired-out stance while maintaining a proper driving height when raised. Scott’s states its SuperSlam chassis is designed to lay frame front to back.
Combined with Scott’s Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, equal-length 4-Bar rear suspension and Moser Ford 9-inch, the SuperSlam transforms the Zephyr into a custom that can look absolutely radical sitting still and still be built to drive. Air it out and let those long Lincoln body lines hug the pavement. Raise it to driving height and hit the highway.
Art Deco styling. Ground-hugging stance. Modern suspension engineering. That’s a SuperSlam Zephyr.

Built Around Your Drivetrain
Your custom Zephyr shouldn’t be limited by the drivetrain it left the factory with. Scott’s can engineer your 1938 Lincoln Zephyr Chassis around everything from traditional Ford power to a modern 5.0L Coyote, Windsor, FE, Y-Block, LS, LT, HEMI or other custom drivetrain combination. Engine placement, transmission fitment, steering clearance, exhaust routing, suspension geometry and ride height are considered as part of the chassis design.
Whether you want traditional Ford heritage under the hood or modern high-horsepower performance, Scott’s built-to-order approach means the chassis is designed around your drivetrain and your vision—not the other way around.

The 1938 Lincoln Zephyr was a rolling work of art from the factory, and its long, flowing body lines make it an incredible platform for a one-of-a-kind custom. Chopped, shaved, streamlined and sitting impossibly low—or kept visually traditional with modern performance hidden underneath—the Zephyr gives builders an opportunity to create something completely different from the typical street rod.
Scott’s Hotrods lets you take the design as far as you want without being restricted by the original chassis. Every 1938 Lincoln Zephyr custom chassis is engineered around the finished car you envision. Go traditional, build a modern restomod, create a radical custom or put the body down over the wheels with SuperSlam. Either way, you get modern IFS, rack & pinion steering, 4-Bar rear suspension, modern disc brake options and a rigid chassis underneath one of the most distinctive American classics ever produced.
Give Your 1938 Lincoln Zephyr the Chassis It Deserves
The 1938 Lincoln Zephyr is far too distinctive to sit on an ordinary chassis. A Scott’s Hotrods 1938 Lincoln Zephyr Chassis replaces outdated steering and suspension technology with a modern, vehicle-specific foundation featuring Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, Moser Ford 9-inch strength and your choice of Coilover or SuperSlam Airbag suspension. Whether your vision is an elegant highway cruiser, modern restomod, radical custom or rocker-laying show car, Scott’s builds the chassis around the way you want your Zephyr to look, sit and drive.
Every Scott’s Zephyr chassis is built-to-order from raw materials using vehicle-specific engineering, mandrel-bent frame rails, heavy-duty DOM suspension components, CNC-machined parts, Grade 8 hardware and 100% TIG-welded construction. You keep the unmistakable Art Deco styling and presence that made the Lincoln Zephyr legendary—we give it the modern foundation to make it ride better, handle better, sit lower and drive like no 1938 Lincoln ever could.
