Why Choose a Scott’s Hotrods
1952-1954 Mercury Chassis?
Transform your 1952-1954 Mercury into a modern-driving custom with a Scott’s Hotrods built-to-order Mercury chassis. Every chassis is engineered specifically around your vehicle, drivetrain, wheel and tire combination, desired ride height and intended use. Whether you’re building a traditional custom Merc, long-distance cruiser, modern restomod, Pro Touring build or a ground-hugging lead sled, Scott’s gives your classic Mercury the strength, handling, ride quality and stance of a modern performance vehicle.
Every Scott’s 1952-1954 Mercury Chassis features our proprietary Independent Front Suspension (IFS), heavy-duty Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, rack & pinion steering, equal-length Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end. Choose premium Coilovers for a low static ride height with responsive handling or step up to our SuperSlam Airbag Chassis for maximum suspension travel and an ultra-low stance. Every chassis is built-to-order specifically for your Merc and 100% TIG welded at our manufacturing facility in Knoxville, Tennessee.
This isn’t a universal frame modified to fit a Mercury. Scott’s engineers the complete chassis specifically for the 1952, 1953 and 1954 Mercury, taking suspension geometry, drivetrain placement, floor clearance, exhaust clearance, track width and stance into consideration from the beginning. From a period-inspired custom to a modern high-horsepower restomod, your classic Merc deserves a chassis engineered to make it drive every bit as good as it looks.
Scott’s Hotrods manufactures one of the most complete 1952-1954 Mercury chassis available, giving builders a completely modern foundation for one of America’s most iconic custom-car platforms. Each chassis is built-to-order specifically for your Merc, allowing us to engineer the suspension, drivetrain placement, track width and ride height around your individual project rather than forcing your car to fit a universal chassis design.
At the front, Scott’s proprietary Independent Front Suspension features a heavy-duty one-piece 2″x4″x3/16″-wall crossmember, massive 1-1/8″x.250-wall DOM Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, built-in anti-dive and modern rack & pinion steering. Out back, our proven Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension locates a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end using heavy-duty adjustable DOM link bars. The chassis itself is constructed using mandrel-bent 2″x4″ frame rails and an 8-point tubular center crossmember, with every Scott’s-manufactured assembly 100% TIG welded for strength, rigidity and precision.
Choose Coilovers for a comfortable cruiser, modern restomod or performance-oriented Merc, or choose Scott’s SuperSlam Airbag Chassis when your goal is an ultra-low, adjustable stance. Whether you’re building a chopped custom, traditional lead sled, modern street machine or completely one-off 1952, 1953 or 1954 Mercury, Scott’s builds the chassis around the car you want to create.

Building a Traditional Custom or Modern Mercury Lead Sled?
Few cars have the presence of a properly built classic Mercury sitting low over the pavement. Scott’s Hotrods gives your 1952-1954 Merc custom the stance you want without forcing you to live with nearly 75-year-old chassis, steering and suspension technology. Whether your vision is a traditional chopped lead sled, a mild custom cruiser or a modern restomod with big horsepower, every Scott’s Mercury chassis is engineered around the finished car you’re actually building.
Want the traditional appearance with modern road manners? Choose a properly engineered low static ride height with Coilovers. Want your Mercury sitting on the ground when parked? Start with a SuperSlam Chassis engineered specifically around air suspension. Either way, you get modern IFS, rack & pinion steering, 4-Bar rear suspension, four-wheel disc brake options and a rigid foundation underneath one of the most recognizable custom-car body styles ever built.

Give Your 1952-1954 Mercury the Chassis It Deserves
The 1952, 1953 and 1954 Mercury have long been favorites of custom-car builders, but timeless styling doesn’t mean you have to settle for outdated chassis technology. A Scott’s Hotrods 1952-1954 Mercury Chassis replaces the original steering and suspension with a completely modern, vehicle-specific foundation featuring Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, Moser Ford 9-inch rear end and your choice of Coilover or SuperSlam Airbag suspension. The result is a classic Merc engineered to steer better, handle more confidently, ride more comfortably and deliver the stance your custom deserves.
Every Scott’s Mercury chassis is built-to-order around your specific car, drivetrain, wheels, stance and intended use. From a traditional chopped lead sled and low-slung custom cruiser to a modern high-horsepower restomod, every chassis is manufactured using mandrel-bent frame rails, heavy-duty DOM tubing, precision CNC-machined components, Grade 8 hardware and 100% TIG-welded construction in Knoxville, Tennessee. Keep the unmistakable style and attitude of your classic Mercury—we’ll give it the modern foundation to make it drive as good as it looks.
