Why Choose a Scott’s Hotrods
1940-1941 Cadillac Series 62 Chassis?

The 1940-1941 Cadillac Series 62 represents everything that made pre-war Cadillac special—long flowing body lines, substantial proportions and unmistakable American luxury. A Scott’s Hotrods 1940-1941 Cadillac Series 62 Chassis preserves that classic character while completely transforming the way the car rides, handles, steers and performs. Every chassis is Built-To-Order around your specific Cadillac, drivetrain, wheel and tire combination, desired ride height and intended use.

Whether you’re building an elegant highway cruiser, modern Cadillac restomod, high-horsepower custom or an ultra-low show car, Scott’s gives your Series 62 a completely modern foundation featuring our Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, heavy-duty Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and Moser Ford 9-inch rear end. Choose a performance-oriented Coilover Chassis for excellent road manners and a low static stance or step up to our SuperSlam Airbag Chassis for an adjustable, pavement-hugging custom Cadillac.

Every Scott’s Cadillac chassis is manufactured using heavy-duty materials, precision CNC-machined components, Grade 8 hardware and 100% TIG-welded construction. The existing page confirms the 2″x4″ mandrel-bent rails, DOM suspension components, Moser rear end and other core construction details.

1940-1941 Cadillac Series 62 Chassis Overview

A classic 1940 or 1941 Cadillac Series 62 shouldn’t have to sacrifice its legendary luxury-car presence to gain modern performance. Scott’s replaces the limitations of the original chassis, steering and suspension with an integrated modern platform engineered to provide improved chassis rigidity, suspension geometry, steering response, braking capability, ride quality and overall drivability.

At the front, Scott’s proprietary IFS utilizes a massive one-piece 2″x4″x3/16″-wall crossmember with 1-1/8″x1/4″-wall DOM Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, built-in anti-dive, CNC-machined stainless steel adjustable upper A-Arm rod ends and oversized serviceable ball joints. Modern rack & pinion steering replaces the original steering system for a much more responsive driving experience.

Out back, Scott’s proven Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension locates a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end using heavy-duty adjustable DOM link bars and CNC-machined stainless steel rod ends. The front suspension, rear suspension and chassis are engineered as a complete system, giving your classic Cadillac the foundation needed for modern power, modern brakes and serious highway miles.

A Modern Chassis for a Classic Luxury Cadillac

I would add this because it makes this page different from all the others.

The goal of a Scott’s 1940-1941 Cadillac Series 62 chassis isn’t to take the character out of the Cadillac—it’s to make that character more enjoyable. These cars were built to be substantial, comfortable and impressive, and a modern chassis allows you to retain that unmistakable Cadillac presence while dramatically improving what happens behind the wheel.

Modern Independent Front Suspension and rack & pinion steering provide more precise control, while the Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, modern Coilovers or air suspension and available Wilwood disc brakes bring the chassis technology forward by decades. Build it as a refined luxury restomod capable of long-distance cruising or take the opposite direction and create an aggressive custom Cadillac sitting inches off the pavement. The chassis is engineered around the Cadillac you want to build.

Coilover or SuperSlam
Choose Your Cadillac’s Personality

1940-1941 Cadillac Coilover Chassis

For a Cadillac that’s going to spend serious time on the road, Scott’s Coilover Series 62 Chassis provides the combination of ride control, handling and stance a modern luxury restomod deserves. Aldan American Single-Adjustable Coilovers are standard, with additional performance shock options available.

A Coilover chassis gives your Cadillac a clean, low static ride height while maintaining controlled suspension movement and predictable road manners. It’s an excellent choice for a 1940 or 1941 Cadillac restomod designed for cruising, highway driving and long-distance touring.

Want Your 1940-1941 Cadillac to Lay Out?

Few vehicles make a statement like a big-bodied vintage Cadillac sitting absolutely hammered over the wheels. Scott’s SuperSlam 1940-1941 Cadillac Series 62 Chassis is engineered for builders who want that dramatic, pavement-hugging stance while retaining an adjustable driving height when it’s time to hit the road.

The SuperSlam isn’t simply about installing airbags. The chassis is configured around the suspension travel, component packaging and stance required for an extremely low custom build. Air it out and let the Cadillac’s long body settle toward the pavement; raise it to driving height and enjoy the benefits of Scott’s modern IFS, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and Moser Ford 9-inch.

Big Cadillac. Low stance. Modern chassis.

Lay it out. Raise it up. Drive it. That’s SuperSlam.

The Most Complete 1940-1941 Cadillac Chassis

Scott’s can deliver much more than a bare frame and suspension. Your 1940-1941 Cadillac chassis can be configured with available Wilwood disc brakes, power rack & pinion steering, front and rear sway bars, aluminum fuel tank with in-tank pump, stainless steel fuel lines, stainless steel brake lines, engine mounts, transmission mount, steering linkage and upgraded Moser rear-end components.

The advantage is having more of your Cadillac’s foundation designed, manufactured and assembled as one complete package. Instead of sourcing dozens of unrelated components and figuring out how to make them work together during the build, Scott’s can provide a chassis where the major suspension, steering, braking, fuel and drivetrain systems have already been considered as part of the overall design.

Give Your 1940-1941 Cadillac Series 62
the Foundation It Deserves

A 1940 or 1941 Cadillac Series 62 was built to make a statement, and nearly nine decades later, it still does. A Scott’s Hotrods chassis lets you preserve the unmistakable proportions, elegance and presence of the original Cadillac while completely transforming the foundation underneath it. Modern Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, Moser Ford 9-inch strength and Coilover or SuperSlam Airbag suspension give your Series 62 the handling, ride quality, braking capability and drivability expected from a modern custom vehicle.

Whether your vision is an elegant Cadillac restomod, LS/LT-powered luxury cruiser, high-horsepower street machine or a radical SuperSlam Cadillac laid out over the pavement, Scott’s builds the chassis around your project. Every chassis is Built-To-Order, 100% TIG-welded and manufactured in Knoxville, Tennessee using heavy-duty materials and precision-machined components. Your Cadillac already has the presence—give it the chassis to match.
