About TITAN Powdercoat
TITAN Powdercoat is a premier automotive and industrial powder coating company based in Knoxville, Tennessee, delivering high-quality, durable finishes for everything from complete vehicle chassis and suspension components to wheels, engine parts, fabricated assemblies, and custom one-off projects. Using professional-grade equipment, premium powder coatings, and meticulous surface preparation, TITAN provides finishes that offer outstanding corrosion resistance, impact protection, and long-lasting beauty.
As the sister company of Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs, TITAN Powdercoat is trusted to finish the same award-winning chassis and custom components found beneath some of the nation’s finest hot rods, trucks, muscle cars, and Pro Touring builds. Whether you’re looking for a classic satin black chassis, a custom color, or a specialty finish, TITAN combines expert craftsmanship with attention to detail to produce results that meet the highest standards of quality and durability.
Every Scott’s Hotrods chassis that is powder coated is finished in-house by TITAN Powdercoat, our state-of-the-art powder coating division located right here in Knoxville, Tennessee. Unlike companies that outsource finishing, having TITAN under the same roof gives us complete control over every step of the process—from surface preparation and masking to the final cure. The result is a durable, uniform finish that not only enhances the appearance of your chassis but also provides long-lasting protection against chips, corrosion, chemicals, and the elements.
TITAN Powdercoat specializes in premium automotive finishes and uses professional-grade equipment and materials to ensure every chassis meets the same high standards as the rest of your Scott’s Hotrods build. Whether you choose a classic satin black, gloss black, or one of our custom color options, your chassis receives the attention to detail and craftsmanship expected from a Scott’s Hotrods product. By keeping fabrication, assembly, and powder coating entirely in-house, we’re able to deliver exceptional quality, consistency, and a finish that’s built to last.
Powder Coating Your Scott’s Hotrods Chassis
Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs offers professional powder coating on many of our chassis as an optional upgrade. For most of our production chassis, we have years of proven fitment experience and can confidently powder coat the chassis before it ships because we know the body, engine, and drivetrain will bolt into place as designed.
However, some custom or low-production chassis require final fitment before they can be permanently finished. On these applications, critical components such as body mounts, engine mounts, transmission crossmembers, or other brackets may be intentionally left tack welded during fabrication. This allows us to make any minor adjustments required to account for differences in original vehicle bodies, manufacturing tolerances, previous collision repairs, or inconsistencies in factory dimensions. Once everything has been test fit and verified, the mounts are fully welded in their final position.
For this reason, certain chassis cannot be powder coated before delivery. Applying powder coating before final fitment would risk damaging the finish if modifications or additional welding became necessary. Our goal is to deliver the highest-quality product possible, not simply the earliest cosmetic finish.
The same process is followed on every complete vehicle built by Scott’s Hotrods. During a full build, the chassis remains in bare steel throughout fabrication, mock-up, drivetrain installation, suspension setup, sheet metal fitting, and bodywork. Keeping the chassis unfinished during these stages prevents damage to the coating and allows us to make any final adjustments without compromising the finish.
Only after the body has been completely fitted, all fabrication has been finalized, and the vehicle is ready for paint is the chassis completely disassembled, media blasted, powder coated, and reassembled for final installation. This ensures the powder coating remains flawless and that every bracket, mount, and component is exactly where it belongs.
While we understand customers are excited to receive a finished, powder-coated chassis, taking the time to verify fitment first helps prevent costly rework, protects the final finish, and ensures your chassis meets the quality standards Scott’s Hotrods is known for.
