Scott’s Hotrods builds custom GM chassis for virtually any American GM car from 1925-1987, giving classic Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and other GM owners a completely modern, vehicle-specific foundation engineered around the car they actually want to build. We don’t take one universal frame and modify it to fit dozens of unrelated vehicles. Every Scott’s GM chassis is built-to-order according to your specific year, make, model, drivetrain, wheel and tire combination, track width, desired ride height, suspension configuration and intended use.
Whether you’re building a traditional early Chevrolet street rod, custom Buick, Cadillac cruiser, Oldsmobile restomod, classic Pontiac, Pro Touring muscle car or a radical SuperSlam Impala designed to lay frame or rocker, Scott’s engineers the chassis around your vision. From comfortable highway cruisers to high-horsepower performance builds and ground-hugging show cars, the chassis is designed around the finished vehicle—not the vehicle around a generic chassis.
Every Scott’s custom GM chassis combines our proprietary Independent Front Suspension (IFS), massive Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, rack & pinion steering, equal-length Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end with a rigid, purpose-built frame. Choose premium Coilovers for responsive handling and excellent road manners or our SuperSlam Airbag Chassis for an ultra-low, adjustable stance. Every chassis is built using heavy-duty materials, precision CNC-machined components, Grade 8 hardware and 100% TIG-welded construction.
Custom Chevy & GM Chassis 1925-1987
Built-to-Order by Scott’s Hotrods
Scott’s Hotrods manufactures one of the most complete custom GM chassis packages available for classic Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and other GM cars. Every chassis begins with the specifications of your individual project. Engine and transmission combination, suspension choice, wheels, tires, track width, ride height and intended use are considered before fabrication begins, allowing Scott’s to create a foundation specifically engineered for your vehicle.
The chassis features mandrel-bent 2″x4″x.120-wall frame rails, an 8-point 1-1/2″ DOM tubular center crossmember and Scott’s proprietary IFS built around a massive one-piece 2″x4″x3/16″-wall suspension crossmember. Our Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms are constructed from 1-1/8″x1/4″-wall DOM tubing and feature built-in anti-dive, CNC-machined stainless steel adjustable upper A-Arm rod ends and oversized serviceable ball joints. Out back, Scott’s Parallel 4-Bar suspension locates a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end using heavy-duty adjustable DOM link bars.
The result is much more than a replacement frame. It’s a completely modern chassis engineered to improve handling, steering response, ride quality, braking capability, chassis rigidity and overall drivability, while giving you the freedom to build the stance and performance level your classic GM deserves.
Scott’s Coilover Chevy Chassis – 1935 to 1987 – Starting at $14,750 Scott’s SuperSlam Chevy Chassis – 1935 to 1987 – Starting at $15,650 Pre-1934 Chevy Chassis – Rear Steer IFS – Add $1,000

From Tri-Five Chevy to Impala—and Everything In Between
This is the section I’d make big on this page because your navigation shows just how many GM applications Scott’s already supports: Buick Series 50, Cadillac Series 62, Chevy cars, Olds 88, Corvette, Buick Century, Tri-Five, Impala, Corvair, Chevelle, Camaro, Monte Carlo and more.
Scott’s Hotrods has spent decades engineering chassis for an enormous range of classic Chevrolet and GM vehicles. From early street rods and luxury cruisers to muscle cars and radical customs, our built-to-order approach allows us to manufacture chassis for popular GM platforms as well as rare, unusual and completely custom applications.
Whether you’re building a Tri-Five Chevy, Impala, Chevelle, Camaro, Corvette, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Pontiac or another classic GM vehicle, Scott’s can give it a completely modern foundation. And if your year, make or model isn’t listed on one of our dedicated chassis pages, that doesn’t mean we can’t build it. Scott’s specializes in custom applications and can engineer a chassis around virtually any classic American GM project.
Want Your Chevy or GM to Lay Frame or Rocker?
Scott’s Hotrods SuperSlam GM Chassis is engineered for builders who want an extreme, pavement-hugging stance without sacrificing suspension geometry, ride quality or drivability. Unlike simply substituting airbags into a Coilover chassis, the SuperSlam configuration is designed around air suspension from the beginning, allowing the chassis, suspension travel and component packaging to work together to achieve the ultra-low stance your build demands.
Whether you’re building a laid-out ’59 Impala, bagged Tri-Five Chevy, slammed Cadillac, custom Buick, low-slung Oldsmobile or radical GM show car, Scott’s can engineer the chassis around the stance you want. Combined with our Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and Moser Ford 9-inch, the SuperSlam gives you modern chassis technology underneath a classic GM body sitting impossibly low.
Lay it out. Raise it up. Drive it. That’s SuperSlam.

Building an LS or LT-Swapped Classic GM?
Modern horsepower deserves a chassis engineered to handle it. Scott’s can build your custom GM chassis around everything from a traditional Small-Block Chevy or Big-Block Chevy to a modern LS or LT drivetrain, giving builders the freedom to combine classic GM styling with modern power, reliability and performance.
Because every chassis is built-to-order, engine placement, transmission fitment, steering clearance, exhaust routing, suspension geometry, floor clearance and ride height can all be considered during the chassis design process. Whether you’re keeping your classic Chevrolet traditionally powered, building an LS-swapped Impala, LT-powered Pro Touring car or creating something completely unconventional, Scott’s builds the chassis around the drivetrain you actually intend to use.

Have a Rare or Unusual GM? We Can Build for That Too.
Not every custom GM project is a Tri-Five, Camaro or Chevelle—and that’s where Scott’s built-to-order custom chassis engineering becomes especially valuable. If you’re building a rare Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Chevrolet or another unusual GM body style without an off-the-shelf aftermarket chassis, Scott’s can engineer a completely modern foundation specifically around your vehicle.
For applications where accurate factory blueprints or frame dimensions are unavailable, Scott’s can utilize our Creaform HandySCAN 3D scanning technology to digitally capture your original chassis. Critical dimensions, body mounting locations, frame contours, wheelbase and other reference points can then be used to help engineer a modern Scott’s chassis around the original vehicle. This allows us to tackle rare and unusual projects using real-world dimensional information instead of relying solely on incomplete or decades-old drawings.
Creaform HandySCAN
For rare, unusual or one-off vehicles where accurate factory frame dimensions and blueprints simply don’t exist, Scott’s Hotrods can utilize our Creaform HandySCAN 3D scanner to digitally capture your original chassis with exceptional detail. By scanning the existing frame, we can create an accurate 3D representation of critical dimensions, body mounting locations, wheelbase, frame contours, suspension mounting areas and other important reference points needed to engineer a vehicle-specific custom chassis. This gives our engineering and fabrication team real-world dimensional data directly from the vehicle instead of relying solely on incomplete, inaccurate or decades-old drawings.
This capability is especially valuable for rare classic cars, unusual GM applications and completely custom builds where an off-the-shelf chassis simply isn’t an option. Once the original chassis has been digitally captured, Scott’s can use that information as a reference to engineer a modern chassis incorporating our Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, Coilover or SuperSlam Airbag suspension, modern drivetrain mounting and more. The result is the best of both worlds: critical dimensions derived from your original vehicle combined with the modern suspension technology, strength and drivability of a Scott’s Hotrods custom chassis.
If It’s GM, Scott’s Can Build a Chassis for It.
From early Chevrolet street rods and iconic Tri-Five Chevys to Impalas, Chevelles, Camaros, Corvettes, Buicks, Cadillacs, Oldsmobiles and rare one-off GM customs, Scott’s Hotrods gives builders the freedom to create the vehicle they actually want instead of settling for the limitations of an off-the-shelf frame. Every Scott’s custom Chevy and GM chassis is built-to-order around your specific vehicle, drivetrain, wheels, stance and performance goals, combining modern Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, Moser Ford 9-inch strength and your choice of Coilover or SuperSlam Airbag suspension.
Whether you’re building a traditional cruiser, LS-swapped restomod, LT-powered Pro Touring car, high-horsepower street machine or radical frame-laying custom, Scott’s has the engineering and manufacturing capabilities to build the modern foundation underneath it. Every chassis is manufactured using heavy-duty materials, DOM suspension components, precision CNC-machined parts, Grade 8 hardware and 100% TIG-welded construction. You tell us what GM you’re building, what you’re putting under the hood and how you want it to sit—we’ll build the chassis to make it happen.
