Why Choose a Scott’s Hotrods Custom Ford Chassis?

Scott’s Hotrods builds custom Ford chassis for virtually any American Ford car from 1925-1987+, giving classic Ford owners a modern, vehicle-specific foundation engineered around the car they actually want to build. We don’t believe in taking one universal frame and modifying it to fit dozens of different vehicles. Every Scott’s Ford chassis is built-to-order according to your specific year, model, drivetrain, wheel and tire combination, track width, desired ride height, suspension configuration and intended use.

From a traditional early Ford hot rod and chopped Shoebox custom to a classic Fairlane, Thunderbird, Falcon, Mustang or completely unusual Ford project, Scott’s can engineer the chassis around your vision. Want a comfortable highway cruiser with a mild drop? A Coyote-powered restomod built to carve corners? A high-horsepower Pro Touring Ford? Or a radical SuperSlam custom designed to lay frame or rocker? We build the chassis around the vehicle—not the vehicle around a generic chassis.

Every Scott’s custom Ford chassis combines our proprietary Independent Front Suspension (IFS), heavy-duty Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, rack & pinion steering, equal-length Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end with a rigid, purpose-built frame. Choose premium Coilovers for responsive handling and excellent road manners or our SuperSlam Airbag Chassis for an ultra-low, adjustable stance. Every chassis is manufactured using heavy-duty materials, precision-machined components, Grade 8 hardware and 100% TIG-welded construction.

Custom Ford Chassis Overview

Scott’s Hotrods manufactures one of the most complete custom Ford chassis packages available for classic Ford cars, hot rods, street rods, restomods and customs. Every chassis begins with the specifications of your individual project. Engine and transmission combination, suspension choice, wheel and tire dimensions, ride height and intended use are considered before the chassis is built, allowing Scott’s to create a foundation specifically engineered for your Ford.

The chassis features mandrel-bent 2″x4″x.120-wall frame rails, an 8-point 1-1/2″ DOM tubular center crossmember and Scott’s proprietary IFS built around a massive one-piece 2″x4″x3/16″-wall suspension crossmember. Our Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms are constructed from 1-1/8″x1/4″-wall DOM tubing and feature built-in anti-dive, CNC-machined stainless steel adjustable upper A-Arm rod ends and oversized serviceable ball joints. Out back, Scott’s Parallel 4-Bar suspension locates a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end using heavy-duty adjustable DOM link bars.

The result is much more than a replacement Ford frame. It’s a completely modern chassis engineered to improve handling, steering response, ride quality, braking capability, chassis rigidity and overall drivability while giving you the freedom to achieve the stance and performance your build demands.

Built Around Your Ford Engine—or Whatever You Want to Put in It

Your custom Ford doesn’t have to be limited by the engine and transmission it left the factory with. Scott’s can engineer your chassis around everything from traditional Ford Y-Block, Windsor, FE and big-block Ford power to a modern 5.0L Coyote drivetrain. Building something unconventional? We can also accommodate popular GM LS/LT, HEMI and other custom drivetrain combinations.

Because your chassis is built-to-order, engine placement, transmission fitment, steering clearance, suspension geometry, exhaust routing, floor clearance and desired ride height can all be considered during the design process. Whether you’re keeping your Ford all-Ford or building something completely different, we build the chassis around the drivetrain—not the drivetrain around an off-the-shelf chassis.

Want Your Custom Ford to Lay Frame or Rocker?

Scott’s Hotrods SuperSlam Ford Chassis is engineered for builders who want an extreme, pavement-hugging stance without sacrificing suspension geometry, ride quality or drivability. Unlike a Coilover chassis with airbags simply substituted for the shocks and springs, the SuperSlam chassis is designed around air suspension from the beginning, allowing us to engineer the chassis around the travel, geometry and packaging required for an ultra-low aired-out stance.

Whether you’re building a chopped Shoebox Ford, radical street rod, slammed Thunderbird, custom Fairlane, bagged Falcon or rocker-laying Mustang, Scott’s can engineer the chassis around the stance you want. Air it out at the show. Raise it to driving height. Hit the road.

Lay it out. Raise it up. Drive it. That’s SuperSlam.

Have a Rare or Unusual Ford? We Can Build for That Too.

Not every custom Ford project starts with a Mustang, Model A or ’32 Ford—and that’s exactly where Scott’s built-to-order approach becomes even more valuable. If you’re building a rare Ford, unusual body style, one-off custom or vehicle without an off-the-shelf aftermarket chassis, Scott’s can engineer a completely custom foundation around your project.

For applications where reliable factory frame dimensions or blueprints aren’t available, Scott’s can work from your original chassis, using modern measurement and 3D scanning technology to accurately capture critical dimensions, mounting locations and vehicle geometry. Rather than guessing from decades-old measurements, we can use your original frame as the foundation for engineering a completely modern Scott’s chassis.

Creaform HandySCAN

For rare, unusual or one-off vehicles where accurate factory frame dimensions and blueprints simply don’t exist, Scott’s Hotrods can utilize our Creaform HandySCAN 3D scanner to digitally capture your original chassis with exceptional detail. By scanning the existing frame, we can create an accurate 3D representation of critical dimensions, body mounting locations, wheelbase, frame contours, suspension mounting areas and other important reference points needed to engineer a vehicle-specific custom chassis. This gives our engineering and fabrication team real-world dimensional data directly from the vehicle instead of relying solely on incomplete, inaccurate or decades-old drawings.

This capability is especially valuable for rare classic cars, unusual Ford applications and completely custom builds where an off-the-shelf chassis simply isn’t an option. Once the original chassis has been digitally captured, Scott’s can use that information as a reference to engineer a modern chassis incorporating our Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, Coilover or SuperSlam Airbag suspension, modern drivetrain mounting and more. The result is the best of both worlds: critical dimensions derived from your original vehicle combined with the modern suspension technology, strength and drivability of a Scott’s Hotrods custom chassis.

If It’s a Ford, Scott’s Can Build a Chassis for It.

From a nearly century-old Ford hot rod to a high-horsepower muscle car, Scott’s Hotrods gives classic Ford builders the freedom to create the vehicle they actually want instead of settling for the limitations of an off-the-shelf frame. Every Scott’s custom Ford chassis is built-to-order around your specific vehicle, drivetrain, wheels, stance and performance goals, combining modern Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, Moser Ford 9-inch strength and your choice of Coilover or SuperSlam Airbag suspension. Whether your goal is a comfortable cruiser, Pro Touring machine, traditional custom or radical frame-laying show car, the chassis is engineered around the finished Ford you envision.

From Model A hot rods and ’33-’34 Fords to Shoebox customs, Fairlanes, Thunderbirds, Falcons, Mustangs and rare one-off applications, Scott’s has the engineering and manufacturing capabilities to build a modern foundation underneath virtually any classic Ford. Every chassis is constructed using heavy-duty materials, DOM suspension components, precision CNC-machined parts, Grade 8 hardware and 100% TIG-welded construction. You tell us what Ford you’re building, what you’re putting under the hood and how you want it to sit—we’ll build the chassis to make it happen.
