Why is it called the “G10” when it is a C10?
That’s a great question we get asked all the time. This truck was named the “G10” because it was built for the Good-Guys Rod & Custom Association as the 2015 Giveaway Vehicle. The “G” is for Good-Guys.

Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs built this immaculate 1970 C10 Shortbed Fleetside in the beginning of 2014 for Good-Guy’s Rod & Custom Association. After thousands of man-hours and over 100 body mods, the “G10” debuted at the 2014 Good-Guys Nationals at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio.
The “G10” toured the country with Good-Guys for an entire year before being given away at the 2015 Good-Guys Nationals. The lucky winner was super excited to win this BAD ASS truck! After taking the “G10” home, the winner soon realized that he loved his ’69 Camaro more and asked Good-Guys if he could trade it back to Scott’s Hotrods. Good-Guys told him that it was HIS truck and he could do whatever he wanted to with it.
So, the “G10” and the winner’s ’69 Camaro came to our old shop in Oxnard, California. We installed a Scott’s Hotrods Camaro IFS Clip, 4-Bar Rear Suspension, LS3, 4L65E, Dakota Digital Gauges, Vintage Air, PRC Radiator, American Autowire kit and more!
We took the “G10” on Hot Rod Power Tour and many other shows including SEMA 2016. There it won a Golden Ticket for the OUSCI 2016. We were doing great until the transmission cooked itself.
As we prepared for our move to Knoxville, Tennessee in late 2017 we sold the “G10” to Marc Meadors, owner of Good-Guys. Fast-forward to December 2022 when we bought the “G10” back from Good-Guys.
