Why Choose Scott’s
1955-1957 Chevy Tri-Five IFS Front Clip?
Transform the handling, steering, stance and overall drivability of your 1955, 1956 or 1957 Chevrolet with a Scott’s Hotrods Tri-Five IFS Front Clip. Designed specifically for the iconic ’55-’57 Chevy, our complete front clip replaces the original frame and suspension from the firewall forward, giving your Tri-Five a completely modern Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering and tubular A-Arm setup while allowing the original body, core support and front sheet metal to mount back into place. The Scott’s clip incorporates the factory bumper mounting holes and core-support locations to simplify integration with the original car.
Whether you’re building a Tri-Five restomod, LS/LT-swapped ’55 Chevy, Pro Touring ’56 Chevrolet, high-horsepower ’57 Chevy or a slammed custom, Scott’s builds each IFS Front Clip to the specifications of the individual project. Choose Coilovers for responsive handling and a performance-oriented stance or upgrade to SuperSlam Airbags with external RideTech shocks for adjustable ride height and an aggressive low stance. Every Scott’s Tri-Five Front Clip is manufactured in the USA using heavy-duty materials, precision-machined components and 100% TIG-welded construction.

This is NOT a Mustang II Front Suspension
Scott’s Hotrods Tri-Five IFS is NOT a Mustang II suspension and was never based on Mustang II suspension geometry. Our 1955-1957 Chevy IFS Front Clip uses a true unequal-length Independent Front Suspension featuring massive 1-1/8″x1/4″-wall seamless DOM Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, oversized serviceable press-in ball joints and CNC-machined stainless steel fully adjustable upper A-Arm rod ends.
We don’t use a three-piece crossmember with spring-pocket hats or T-bolt slider adjusters for alignment. Instead, Scott’s uses a heavy-duty one-piece 2″x4″x3/16″-wall crossmember, built-in anti-dive, rack & pinion steering, forged steel spindles and 5/8″ or larger Grade 8 hardware. The result is a strong, precise and highly adjustable front suspension engineered specifically for the 1955-1957 Chevrolet platform.
