Why is Scott’s 1964-1967 Chevelle Chassis Different?

Transform your 1964, 1965, 1966 or 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle with a completely modern foundation engineered around the way you want your car to sit, drive and perform. Every Scott’s Hotrods 1964-1967 Chevelle Chassis is Built-To-Order around your specific vehicle, drivetrain, wheel and tire combination, desired ride height and intended use. From a comfortable street-driven cruiser to an LS/LT-powered restomod, high-horsepower Pro Touring Chevelle or ultra-low custom, Scott’s builds the chassis around your project—not the other way around.

The Scott’s Chevelle chassis combines our proprietary Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, massive Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and Moser Ford 9-inch rear end into one complete performance platform. Choose a Coilover Chassis for responsive handling and a performance-oriented stance or step up to our SuperSlam Airbag Chassis for adjustable ride height and an aggressive ground-hugging look. Every chassis is manufactured using heavy-duty materials, precision CNC-machined components, Grade 8 hardware and 100% TIG-welded construction.

A Complete Modern Chassis for Your 1964-1967 Chevelle

A classic Chevelle deserves more than modern horsepower bolted to nearly 60-year-old chassis and suspension technology. A Scott’s 1964-1967 Chevelle full chassis completely transforms the foundation underneath the car, giving builders modern suspension geometry, rack & pinion steering, improved chassis rigidity, modern braking capability and dramatically improved handling and ride quality.

Up front, Scott’s IFS features a heavy-duty one-piece 2″x4″x3/16″-wall crossmember, massive 1-1/8″x1/4″-wall DOM Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, built-in anti-dive, CNC-machined stainless steel fully adjustable upper A-Arm rod ends and oversized serviceable ball joints. Out back, our Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension locates a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end using heavy-duty adjustable DOM link bars and CNC-machined stainless steel rod ends. The frame, front suspension and rear suspension are engineered to function as one complete system.

This is NOT a Mustang II Suspension

Scott’s Hotrods Chevelle IFS is NOT a Mustang II suspension and was never based on Mustang II suspension geometry. Our True Independent Front Suspension is designed specifically for the chassis application and utilizes a heavy-duty one-piece crossmember with massive unequal-length Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms.

We don’t use a three-piece crossmember with spring-pocket hats or T-bolt slider adjusters that can move and affect alignment. Scott’s uses CNC-machined stainless steel adjustable upper A-Arm rod ends, built-in anti-dive, oversized serviceable ball joints and 5/8-inch or larger Grade 8 hardware. Combined with rack & pinion steering and modern Coilovers or Airbags with external shocks, the result is a precise, adjustable suspension designed for a serious modern Chevelle.

Built for 1964, 1965, 1966 & 1967 Chevelle

The Scott’s chassis is engineered for the 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle, giving builders a modern foundation for some of the most desirable years of Chevrolet’s legendary A-Body muscle car. Whether you’re starting with a Chevelle Malibu, Super Sport-inspired build, restomod or completely custom project, the chassis can be configured around the finished car you’re creating.

That means your 1964 Chevelle doesn’t have to be built like somebody else’s 1967 Chevelle. Engine and transmission combination, suspension choice, ride height, wheel and tire package, brakes and other chassis options are selected around the individual build.

Built for LS, LT & High-Horsepower Chevelle Builds

Building an LS-swapped Chevelle or LT-powered restomod? Scott’s can configure your 1964-1967 Chevelle Chassis around a wide variety of modern and traditional engine combinations. Popular options include Small-Block Chevy, Big-Block Chevy, LS and LT engines, giving builders the freedom to choose everything from traditional Chevrolet muscle to modern EFI horsepower.

Instead of installing a modern drivetrain and then figuring out how to make the suspension, steering and chassis work around it, Scott’s builds the foundation around the complete project. Engine placement, transmission mounting, steering, suspension, brakes, ride height and rear-end configuration can all be considered before the chassis is manufactured.

Mandrel Bent Chevrolet Chevelle Coilover Chassis

1964-1967 Chevelle Coilover Chassis

For builders focused on handling, road feel and performance, choose the Scott’s Coilover Chevelle Chassis. Aldan American Single-Adjustable Coilovers are standard, with available Aldan Double-Adjustable and RideTech Single- or Triple-Adjustable upgrades.

Combined with Scott’s IFS, fully adjustable upper A-Arms, rack & pinion steering and Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, the Coilover configuration is equally at home underneath a comfortable street cruiser, long-distance restomod or aggressive Pro Touring Chevelle.

Mandrel Bent Chevrolet Chevelle SuperSlam Chassis

Want Your 1964-1967 Chevelle to Lay Rocker?

If low isn’t low enough, build your Chevelle on a Scott’s SuperSlam Chassis. Engineered around air suspension and an ultra-low stance, the SuperSlam configuration gives builders the ability to drop the car dramatically when parked and raise it to a practical driving height when it’s time to hit the road.

For builders chasing the lowest possible stance, floor modifications can allow the Scott’s frame rails to sit higher into the body, reducing exposed frame and helping position the Chevelle body even closer to the pavement. The result is the aggressive stance of a radical custom backed by Scott’s modern IFS, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and Moser Ford 9-inch.

Drop it. Raise it. Drive it. That’s SuperSlam.

Build a More Complete Chevelle Chassis

A Scott’s 1964-1967 Chevelle Chassis can be configured as much more than a bare frame with suspension. Available options include power rack & pinion steering, front or front/rear sway bars, Wilwood performance brakes, upgraded Moser rear-end components, WaveTrac third member, aluminum fuel tank, in-tank fuel pump, stainless steel fuel lines, stainless steel brake lines, steering linkage and powder coating.

The advantage is having more of the vehicle’s foundation engineered and manufactured as one complete package. Instead of sourcing unrelated components from multiple manufacturers and figuring out how everything works together later, Scott’s can build the major suspension, steering, braking, fuel and drivetrain-support systems around the finished Chevelle from the beginning.

Give Your 1964-1967 Chevelle the Chassis It Deserves

The 1964-1967 Chevrolet Chevelle is one of the most iconic platforms of the muscle-car era, but a serious modern build deserves more than decades-old chassis and suspension technology underneath it. A Scott’s Hotrods Chevelle Chassis combines modern Independent Front Suspension, rack & pinion steering, Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension, Moser Ford 9-inch strength and Coilover or SuperSlam Airbag suspension to completely transform the way your Chevelle handles, rides and performs.

Whether you’re building an LS-swapped 1964 Chevelle, big-block 1965 Malibu, Pro Touring 1966 Chevelle or SuperSlam 1967 custom, Scott’s builds the chassis around your individual project. Every chassis is Built-To-Order and 100% TIG-welded in Knoxville, Tennessee, giving your classic Chevrolet a modern foundation engineered for the stance, horsepower and performance you expect.
