Why Choose a Scott’s Hotrods
1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird Chassis?

Transform your 1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird into a modern luxury-performance cruiser with a Scott’s Hotrods built-to-order Thunderbird chassis. Designed specifically for the iconic second-generation Ford Thunderbird—commonly known as the Squarebird—every chassis is engineered around your vehicle, drivetrain, wheel and tire combination, track width, desired ride height and intended use. Whether you’re building a refined restomod, comfortable long-distance cruiser, aggressive Pro Touring Thunderbird or ultra-low custom, Scott’s gives your classic T-Bird the handling, ride quality, strength and stance of a modern performance car.

Every Scott’s 1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird Chassis features our proprietary Independent Front Suspension (IFS), heavy-duty Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, power rack & pinion steering, equal-length Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end. Choose premium Coilovers for responsive handling and excellent road manners or step up to our SuperSlam Airbag Chassis for an ultra-low stance with adjustable ride height. Every chassis is built-to-order specifically for your Thunderbird and 100% TIG welded at our manufacturing facility in Knoxville, Tennessee.

This isn’t a universal frame modified to fit a Thunderbird. Scott’s engineers the complete chassis specifically for the 1958, 1959 and 1960 Ford Thunderbird, replacing more than six decades of original chassis and suspension technology with a purpose-built modern foundation. From a traditional Ford-powered cruiser to a modern 5.0L Coyote-swapped Squarebird, your drivetrain, suspension, steering, stance and performance goals are considered from the beginning. You keep the unmistakable styling and character of the classic Thunderbird—we give it the modern foundation to drive, handle and perform like an entirely different car.

1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird Chassis Overview

Scott’s Hotrods 1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird Chassis is engineered to transform the iconic Squarebird into a modern-driving performance machine without sacrificing the unmistakable style that makes these cars so desirable. Every chassis is built-to-order specifically for your 1958, 1959 or 1960 Thunderbird, taking into account your engine and transmission combination, desired ride height, wheel and tire package, suspension choice and intended use. This is not a universal frame adapted to fit your car—it is a complete, vehicle-specific chassis engineered specifically for the second-generation Ford Thunderbird.

Each Thunderbird chassis features Scott’s proprietary Independent Front Suspension (IFS) with heavy-duty Tubular Upper & Lower A-Arms, power rack & pinion steering, an equal-length Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end. Choose from premium Coilovers for responsive handling and comfortable cruising or Scott’s SuperSlam Airbag suspension for an ultra-low, show-stopping stance. Whether you’re building a traditional Ford-powered cruiser, Coyote-swapped Squarebird, Pro Touring Thunderbird, modern restomod or frame-laying custom, Scott’s gives your classic T-Bird the strength, handling, ride quality and modern performance it deserves.

Built from raw materials and 100% TIG welded in Knoxville, Tennessee, every Scott’s 1958-1960 Thunderbird Chassis is designed to provide a strong, rigid foundation for the entire build. From modern steering and suspension to big brakes and high-horsepower drivetrains, Scott’s takes the legendary style of the 1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird Squarebird and gives it the chassis technology to perform on today’s roads.

Want Your 1958-1960 Thunderbird to Lay Rocker?

Scott’s Hotrods SuperSlam 1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird Chassis is engineered for builders who want their Squarebird sitting impossibly low without sacrificing suspension geometry, ride quality or drivability. Unlike a Coilover chassis simply converted to airbags, the SuperSlam chassis is designed around air suspension from the beginning, utilizing Slam Specialties airbags with RideTech shocks to deliver massive suspension travel, adjustable ride height and the ultra-low stance these long, low Thunderbirds were made for.

Whether you’re building a bagged Squarebird, Coyote-powered Thunderbird restomod, custom cruiser or show-stopping 1958, 1959 or 1960 T-Bird, the SuperSlam combines Scott’s proprietary Independent Front Suspension, power rack & pinion steering, equal-length Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension and Moser Ford 9-inch with a properly engineered air suspension system. Air it down to lay rocker, raise it to driving height and hit the road. With Scott’s SuperSlam Chassis, you don’t have to choose between an incredible stance and a Thunderbird that’s built to drive.
