Upgrade your Rear Suspension with a Scott’s Watt’s Link!

A Watt’s Link uses a central pivot assembly (mounted to the rear differential housing or chassis) with two equal-length link arms extending outward to the left and right sides of the axle. As the suspension travels up and down, these links move in opposite arcs. The pivot mechanism allows the axle to move straight up and down vertically, rather than in an arc like it does with a Panhard Bar.

Scott’s Hotrods designed the Scott’s Watt’s Link with CNC-machined components, adjustable rod ends, and a beefy center pivot for strength and precision. The result is a rigid, smooth, and consistent geometry that maintains proper alignment and minimizes lateral axle shift.

Benefits Over a Panhard Bar

  1. Perfect Axle Centering

A Panhard Bar forces the axle to move in a slight arc, meaning the axle shifts side-to-side as the suspension compresses. The Watt’s Link completely eliminates this, keeping the axle centered at all ride heights.

  2. Improved Handling & Predictability

Because the rear end stays centered, your handling is more balanced during cornering, acceleration, and braking. It delivers a more stable, confidence-inspiring feel.

  3. Consistent Tire Clearance

On vehicles with tight wheel/tire fitment, the Watt’s Link prevents one side of the axle from moving closer to the body or fender under compression—something that can happen with a Panhard setup.

  4. Better Ride Quality

The balanced geometry reduces bind and unpredictable movement, providing smoother suspension articulation and improved traction.

  5. Ideal for Performance Builds

Perfect for custom cars, pro-touring builds, and high-performance street machines where precision and control matter as much as style.
