Trust Scott’s Hotrods To Make Your Dream Ride A Reality
Scott’s Hotrods is dedicated to producing exceptional, coach-level custom Street Rods, Hot Rods and Pro Touring rides. Meticulous attention to detail, progressive design and master fabrication by highly skilled master fabricators. Scott’s does not do restorations. Restorations are boring. If you are going to spend the time and money to build a car or truck, why not make it bad ass with technology from this century.
Why Is Scott’s Hotrods Different?
We build vehicles to not only look good parked at a car show, but to perform and handle like a brand new sports car. The backbone of any vehicle is the chassis and suspension. If the chassis is weak and the vehicle rides and handles like a wagon, it doesn’t matter how pretty it is. Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs IS Quality, Engineering, Creativity & Workmanship. 100% TIG Welded, 100% American Made, 100% Bad Ass.
- Fabrication
- 'One-Off' Suspension
- Corrective Geometry
- Custom Engineered For Each Customer
- Limited Lifetime Warranty
Every Scott’s Hotrods IFS comes with a lifetime guarantee because of a refusal to use inferior materials. American Sourced materials include 1-1/8”x1/4” wall DOM seamless tubing is used to make ALL of Scott’s Hotrods A-Arms and Link Bars. They are machined and tapped for full thread engagement of our CNC machined Stainless Steel Rod Ends that are all made in-house. 2”x4”x3/16” wall tubing is used for our crossmembers & frame rails and are all 100% TIG welded for superior rigidity and strength. PLUS, TIG welds look prettier.
Each and Every IFS kit built at Scott’s Hotrods is Built-To-Order. This means the kit is vehicle specific and built with the options and specs determined by the customer. This is NOT a Mustang II suspension and it is NOT a Universal Fit where the customer is left guessing.
Scott’s Hotrods knows that in order for a suspension to function properly, it must have the correct geometry. To achieve this, it must have all of its pivot points in the location they were designed to be in. The moment you change a single one of those pivot points, your suspension will cease to function as it was designed, which is the common mistake of those installing Mustang II’s in their cars.
When you order a Scott’s Hotrods suspension we start from scratch. We take all of your information like the type of vehicle, motor, track width, desired ride height and work to build you a proper suspension kit that will work best for your vehicle. Your a-arms, crossmember notch and track width will be unique to your vehicle. This will ensure that your suspension will work exactly as advertised, guaranteed!
We stand behind ALL of the parts we manufacture. Other parts that we do not manufacture such as brakes, steering racks, ball joints, brake flex lines, power steering lines, etc carry their own manufacturers warranties. We are not responsible for these items outside of their original warranty.
All of Scott’s Hotrods manufactured parts are guaranteed to be free of defects in materials & workmanship for the lifetime of the part. Scott’s Hotrods warranty is non-transferable.
Scott’s Hotrods Independent Front Suspension Kits
How To Choose A Weld-On or Bolt-On IFS
- Price
- Ease Of Installation, Skillset Of Installer
- Ability To Go Back To Stock
- Limited Lifetime Warranty
Scott’s manufactures Weld-On Independent Front Suspension kits for any year/make/model vehicle from 1925-1987 starting at $3,075. We can even build an IFS to your custom specs for your custom chassis. Scott’s manufactures select Bolt-On Kits starting at $3,243 a ’48-’54, ’55-’59 Chevy Trucks & ’63-’87 Chevy C10 Trucks.
Scott’s IFS Kits are worth every penny because NOBODY ELSE builds a stronger, higher quality or better kit AND none look nearly as good. You can literally see the quality. If you do not have a vehicle that we manufacture a Bolt-On kit for, you will have to go with a Weld-On kit.
The second thing to consider is ease of installation and skill-set of installer. This is sort of a no-brainer. If you or your installer cannot weld, or does not want to weld, the Bolt-On IFS is the one for you.
With Scott’s Hotrods Weld-On kits we have found that the typical install takes a weekend to remove all of the stock suspension, clean up the frame rails and install the 1-piece crossmember. That does not include welding in the motor mounts or hooking up the steering. Those two can typically be done in an afternoon, but with the vast amount of motor options, that is only an estimate. Scott’s Hotrods Bolt-On units will install a little faster because you just have to drill a couple holes and tighten some bolts versus welding.
Last thing to be aware of is the ability to return your truck back to stock if you go with the Bolt-On kit. With 100% of Scott’s Hotrods Bolt-On kits, truck can be returned back to stock with no effort, but don’t kid yourself, you’re not going to ever want a truck that handles like a wagon again.
If you still are unsure about which way to go, just give us a call and let us help you decide. We’ll be glad to help and make sure you end up with the best choice for you and your truck.
Why Choose Scott’s Hotrods?
Justin Scott Padfield started Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs when he was 19-years-old in a small 3,000-sq/ft shop in Ventura, CA. It quickly grew over the next few years to roughly 7,500-sq/ft with an additional 10,000-sq/ft shop behind the first. The owner of the property was forced to sell and Scott’s moved its entire operation to the neighboring town of Oxnard, CA in 2005. This building was about 8,000-sq/ft and was quickly bursting at the seams.
After years of diligent searching, Scott’s moved everything–and the employees–2,240-miles across the country to Knoxville, TN in April 2018. This new shop is over 20,000-sq/ft on 3.6-acres, just 2-miles from Downtown Knoxville! In the Fall of 2022, an additional 12,000sq/ft building was erected next door that now houses all of the Project Vehicles giving the manufacturing side of the business much more room to expand production in the main building. As Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs continues to expand its already wide range of services, a Custom Paint Shop was added to the mix in the Spring of 2023. This 8,000sq/ft shop is just 35 minutes away in Friendsville, Tennessee.
The team at Scott’s Hotrods has built many of the top rod’s seen at shows around the country, numerous magazine cover cars and countless tech articles over the years. The suspension and chassis manufacturing part of the business has grown substantially over the years and the custom hotrod part of the shop hasn’t slowed either.
